well this last week was not what i expected haha, our baptismal candidate is still struggling with smoking so it was postponed i got sick with the flu ( the changing of the seasons made lots of people sick) and so its been a battle trying to get everything that i need to done but we got it finished so thats a blessing.
Had my final interview on sunday and it went really well and i really appreciated the things that president said and prayed for me, a lot of fears were taken away and i really feel confident coming home :)
ya i got a new recommend for 90 days so ill need a new one once i get home.
ya thats a great blessing for STEVE AND K.
ya idk what to do about all that but it will be clear to me and the doors will be opened as i was blessed with so it will be interesting to see what happens :) LOVE YOU SEE YOU SOON :)

Subject: Last week

Well your down to your last week and a couple of days! Don't let up now , continue to work until the end!
It's amassing how the gospel changes lives , the lady who got baptized just a bout a month ago here, looked like a druggie or worse now you almost can't tell she has ever not been a member of the church by looking at her, of course when you talk to her you know but it's amazing how the Savior changes people. I just hope she keep making progress the way is .

We're getting busy here in Idaho now , doing all the spring stuff, weed control , finish pruning, chopping pruned branches, I'll start delay dormant spraying the pears this week when the weather gets better. We had rain last night and a little today and are supposed to have more tomorrow.  after that it,s supposed to get good again.  my garden is starting to come to life also so getting back to lots to do.  i guess after this only one more e mail to you.  and then we will get to talk to you if we want to on the phone and then squeeze you.  Then we will get to start e mailing Julia each week.
I would leave all the clothes you don't absolutely need with people who need them there in Africa if you can and want to.  Give you more room to bring other stuff home with you or less to bring home if you don't need room for stuff and if it would be of any help to them.  Don't know what the situation might be but just a thought.
We love you, thank you for all the great work you are doing and have done in building the Lords Kingdom.

Well I hope you are staying busy, from your last email it sounds like it.
Things are starting to pick up here at work , more to do as things get a little warmer and we don't have snow every where. I'am getting fertilizer out , cultivating around pear and peach trees so we can do a better job with herbicide and punning the small peach trees we planted last year.
We had Stake Conference this week and it was uplifting , the speakers talked about indexing and Temple work and of course inviting others to hear the Gosple.
I have started a lot of my garden seeds indoors now and planted the few out side that it time to.
I have been having mice dig up my peas and eat them so I set some traps and am trying to catch them. Seem like there is always something trying to thwart our efforts both spiritually and temporally . That's why we always have to keep watching our selves and making sure we are doing what is right.
I love you, "Finish Strong" see you in 22 more days!

hey mom, ok heres whats happened thanks for getting the new card, i basically have nothing left i emptied my account out today and bought some diamonds so they are in my possession, so ya haha i dont really know how much ill have left but if you put 50 in that should be enough for what i need, thanks. things are going fast im really freaking out about coming home i really dont know what to expect and with the possibility that i could be packing up and moving again as soon as i get home doesn't settle my nerves very well haha but no its fine i think ill take it one step at a time when i get home there are a lot of people i need to talk to before i make a decision and figure stuff out, but thanks for all your doing i really love you lots and cant wait to see you son.

Dear son;
Well, this week is your Birthday.  So happy Birthday to you.  dad said he
forgot to say happy Birthday to you so I am doing it for him.  HAPPY
BIRTHDAY SON.  Your Father loves you so much.  I remember when you were
first born.  You were in intensive care unit for a while with wires coming
out of your head, arms, legs etc.  it made me sick to look at them.  Your
Dad was so tender, so caring, so loving in taking care of you.  He would
spend hours at the hospital holding you, feeding you, and comforting you.
He is an amazing man.  He is a good nuturer.  That is why he is such a good
gardner.  He watches things and looks over them so faithfully. But you are a
special child of ours.  We love you so much.
How is the work coming?  Hope that all is going well for you.  May the Lord
Bless and keep You.  Not many days left for you now.  About a month.  Back
104 days ago you told me that if I read a section a day in the doctrine and
Covenants you would be home before I finished.  Well I literally took up
that challenge.  I have faithfully read one section a day.  I record it on
my i pad.  Tomorrow morning I will read section 105.  And with you
vacationing in Minnesota I just might get finished before I ever see you!

Can,t wait to hear from you in the morning!  Love you so much.    MOM

How goes the training splits and the hassle of mission home politics?
It's amazing how the gospel helps people to change, in just a week our new convert has changed a whole lot. She already looks almost like a church member not what she did a week ago. Her countenance has already started to change. I helped her move some of her things Saturday Morning and she was in gospel principles class today.
Not much happening here in idaho just the same old things. I did get some garden work done but that's about all new.
Mother is starting to go to Lydia's  loccross games , I guess because lydia is left handed that's a big asset so she's up front as one of the attack players and the face of queen. Hard for a right hander to deal with.
At the temple they told us that there will be another new film soon so that will make three new films in all , four total that can be used. They didn't know when the other new one was coming but soon they said.
Well we love you and appreciate your great work I building the kingdom.

thanks for all your love i really appreciate it!
that is something i have grown very aware of - how great our family relationship is and how good we all get along, i meet so many people whos familyies are broken or they are so sad because of what is happening in their family and i am so greatful that we as a family are so strong and that is something i have really though about alot and im very greatful for so thank you so much for teaching us in the ways of righteousness :) LOVE YOU LOTS
yeah we are just running around training and putting out fires and doing interviews
well glad to hear that things are going well on the mission front, we should be having a few now in march really excited and really excited for that family to see the changes it can make with them. but love you lots and
see you in 4 weeks!

Just want you to know that. It's so converting to me and it helps me so when I'am not very happy to know that your Mother Loves Me. So I just want You to know that I Love You! I Know Mother Loves you also!! So if things are hard hang onto that WE LOVE YOU! We , your Mother and I are also so well pleased with your great work and efforts in building the kingdom of our Father In Heaven.
Hope by now you and your German have got working together figured out so you have some harmony and unity . It's tough working with a Red who doesn't understand that even though he's always right others are right also.
Glad to hear your Mexican meal was a success , that's good.
We had a baptism there in the Ward Saturday night. The Sisters had traced a lady and she got baptized . She has tattoos and piercing and red streaks in peroxided hair . Hope we can do our part in helping her as she changes. She was very happy but very nervous, her old life I am sure is very different than what she is moving into .
We've had rain all week here, it cleared up last night and today was sunny but windy. It's suppose to get snowy again in the middle of the week but well see. It's like Grandpa Reeve said I think " your either a darn fool or. New commer if you try and predict the weather".
I hope we get a little good weather so I can get a few outside things done. It would be nice to see a little sun also , it seem like its been a couple of months sense we've had some, oh it has been.
Well how is your training the new Elders going. Are you I charge of Zone Conferences? Or do the AP's do that? Do you meet with the zone monthly or just run around putting out fires and going on training splits?
I don't know if Mother told you or not but don't be afraid to spend a few hundred more if you need to to get a good diamond. And don't worry about bringing anything home for me, you get the stuff you want for you. Mom and I don't need any more stuff and it really won't mean anything to us but if you get what you want it will mean something to you. Except a small sample of mopi worms just so I can see what they taste like.
Well we love you and you only have a Month left so like Grandma Reeve says " Finish Strong"!
Oh I was going to say about the anti stuff. Try and help them see the difference in how they feel when they read the Book of Mormon or when they read the anti stuff. That which is of Christ leadeth to do Good and that which is of the devil doesn,t. About the only way I know of to combat that stuff is help them see the difference in feelings they get . Good as 0pposed to bad .
Great Job Elder we are so well pleased with your Efforts. WE LOVE YOU!!!!

hey dad
my new comp. Is Elder Lohamnn from Hammburg Germany. He is a crazy little german guy hahaha its interesting definitely not what i expected my last 6 weeks to be like. But glad things are going well for you,
We now have 26 elders in the zone and half of them are training so we will be busy with exchanges all transfer long.
Yeah we got them to come to stake conference but they only stayed for the first half, guess watching a new stake presidency get called was not to interesting, I just hate anti - stuff and i have had to deal with quite a lot of it in my mission, and it always comes out with the same result - they stop reading the book of mormon and become rotted on the inside with all that garbage - its really sad.
Im getting really tired.... i love the work but its about ready for a change im ready to move on to the next stage of life, but Elder Hammilton of the 70 was at stake conference and he gave a great talk about enduring to the end and finishing our callings and duties what ever they are. LOVE YOU LOTS THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO

Hope you have had a good week, Not really a lot to talk about, just the same old same old, get up go to work and work hard and then go to bed and do it all over again in the morning, Im really trying hard to make these last few months good! I really have a lot i need to work on, i dont know if you got my letter or if you will get it soon but i sent a letter home that talks about some of the challenges i have faced at home before i came out on mission and things i am doing now to try to overcome them. I really have had a change of heart as the scriptures say My disposition and desire to do evil is just about gone i thing haha its amazing how as we grow things we didnt even use to thing about come up and we see that they really arent so good and we can be better D&C 59 The blessings for obedience and diligence "Commandments not a few" :) LOVE YOU AND HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY

Hey,
Things are going great :)
that was my one wish to President about my last 3 months i just want to stay busy and boy am i ever! its great :) almost feel like we are falling behind sometimes but hopefully we can get to everything we need to in time.Went to the temple on friday only to find out that my recommend had expired when i got to the front counter so i was really sad that i would miss the session but another missionary in the zone had his expired as well and was meeting president at the temple for the later session so i was able to met with him and get a new recommend and make a later session so that was really good.
But we had a great baptism last week of a boy who is the son of the 2nd counselor and he got the priesthood this week so 2 new priesthood holders added to the ward and their families are well on the way to joining as well :)  really excited about it, sad i will miss a lot of it cause im leaving in 6 weeks but im setting up for other elders so its ok :)
well i cant buy a 1 k diamond its to much but i can buy some really nice stones so i think i will just buy the loose diamonds. Hope it will work.
WELL LOVE YOU LOTS AND HOPE  ALL IS GOING WELL

Several things go on in the temple for us when we attend. We make sacred promises to God that we will keep his commandments. He makes promises to us that if we keep our promises to him he will give us specific blessings. This is what we call a covenant . A two way promise.
Actually the promises we make are very straight forward and simple, we promise to keep his commandments to use our energy and means in building his kingdom. These promises of course are exchanged between us and the God in various ordinances. An ordinance is what we call the exchanging of these promises. You are the most familiar with baptism and the sacrament. If you will examine them with this in mind , what am I promising God and what is he promising me?, then you will see the simplicity of the covenant we make in these two ordinances . Like wise do the same as you examine the temple ordinances , what am I promising God and what is He promising me, then you will understand them better. Another thing that takes place as we receive the Temple ordinances is that we receive instruction and training about our preearth life , this life , and the life to come . We also receive revelation or in other words individual instruction about each, our per earth life , this life and the life to come. All of these things are taking place at the same time as we precipate in Temple activities so it is needful that we attend often because each time we get a better understanding of our relationship with our Father in Heaven , Christ and the Holy Ghost . Our duties and responsibilities here and what is expected of us and how to go about it.
Hope this is of help to you.
Love
