WOW! what a week - its been incredible! so the first thing that
happened was ELDER JEFFERY R. HOLLAND came to visit! IT WAS AMAZING!
We were all gathered together and sitting in the chapel waiting and he
walked in and waved to everyone, before we started he invited everyone
up to shake his hand and the other general authorities and area
presidency-while standing in line waiting to shake his hand my heart
was pounding but as soon as i got there just peace and calm... when i
shook his hand he asked me where i was from i said Southern Utah he
asked what part and i told him Hurricane and he said oh all the reeves
are from hurricane. For those who dont know Elder Holland is from
St.George 15 mins away from H-Town. so that was cool then President
Cook and his wife spoke and Elder Clayton and his wife spoke then
Elder Holland addressed us- He talked about how a mission is supposed
to change us, that if we go on mission and come home the same we
wasted out time- he talked about the importance of NOT GOING LESS
ACTIVE and turning our backs on this gospel, thats why they created
PREACH MY GOSPEL - because missionaries need to learn the gospel and
become converted before they can show others the way. He talked a lot
about trials and the challenges of mission then he said if the saviors
mission wasn't easy then why should ours be? we wont have to go
through what he did but we will each have our own individual and
personal trials and challenges during our mission here on earth. All
roads to salvation go through the Garden of Gethsemane- and when we
reach our Garden its up to us how we will respond- we wont have to go
through the center of the garden where the savior went but we will be
on the edges somewhere some deeper than others.  WE will learn , love
and, experience wrenching growth to be molded by the potters hand to
the person he knows we can become- he shared a poem that his wife
loves to share (she wasnt there because she was sick ) but it goes
like this there was a man standing by a cliff a voice called to him
and told him come to the edge no he said i will fall, Come to the edge
the voice said again, NO the man said i will fall, COME TO THE EDGE
the voice called again, so he came to the edge and he was
pushed.....and he flew, we can never achieve what we need to unless we
turn our lives completely  over to the LORD, and follow the spirit,
as we sung the closing hymn and stood as he left i felt the spirit and
i received a reassuring witness that this is the lords work and im in
the right place doing the right thing, which was just what i needed
because i had had a really rough week leading up to this and wondering
why i was here i was having a tough time in the area and with people
but i got just what the lord knew i needed :)
But yeah then the payday we had 7 baptisms this week it was such a
wonderful experience! :) everyone was so excited the ward was buzzing
and the chapel was the fullest its been since i have been here. it was
just terrific :) I had the privilege of baptizing 3 of the 7 such a
wonderful spirit in the church yesterday :)
But things are going great. love ya'll and hope things are going well
for everyone :)

HOLA!!

hey everyone,

past couple weeks have been hectic with moving and
trying to learn a new area and new people but its been good this first
2 weeks here has flown by!!! well i shall start from the beginning
first night we got to the flat the toilet was broken so we spend
almost all night trying to fix all the leaks and stuff didnt go to bed
till LATE haha, then i started to get acquainted with township.....:)
crazy place but i love it! so many people we are always busy talking
to people or helping someone, lots of work to do here. had Presidents
interviews on Tuesday so that was nice.
Well it is officially the RAINY SEASON! hahaha its been raining all
week on and off so its been fun running around, climbing over piles of
garbage and avoiding raging rivers of sewage and stinky water. some
how managing to stay remotely dry :)
but we have a good ward just got a new bishopric dont know if i
mentioned this but there are 95 less active families in the ward so
LOTS OF WORK TO DO HERE IN HOSPITAL VIEW! but we have 7 people on date
for the end of this month so its exciting and they are all pretty
solid! one family Able and Lerato a super sweet family we put them on
date for NOV. 18 i think but they work all the time so haven't been
able to come to church, so we are hoping and praying that they will be
able to start coming and get work off.
SHOW! General Conference was POWERFUL! we finally got to watch it
yesterday and saturday some super sweet advice especially for the
people here. sad though we only had an average of about 10-15 people
at each session :/ The attitude here is crazy for example - some
people dont come to church on sundays or even all winter long because
"its cold outside" just strange to me......and so its taking some
getting used to attitude wise - culture wise i fit right in :) hahaha
but interesting fact i have now been complemented on my ears 3 times
since being here! haha apparently in Limpopo the Suoto tribe having
big/prominent ears means you are wise and respected so thats cool :)
haha
Conference was really inspiring though so many great insights i would
encourage you all to take President Monson's invitation and re-read
all the talks so that we can get further inspiration and revelation
for our lives!
i really miss you all and love you lots! :) thank you so much for all
you have done and are doing for me :)
LOTS OF LOVE :)
